Draftfcb helps create another amusing radio spot for Netflorist

Harold, well-known voice of NetFlorist, has provided South Africans with another reason to giggle with his latest radio spot announcing the birth of the royal baby. Founded 14 years ago, the flower and gifting service is utilising Harold to add some spice and alternative thinking to his fans’ lives, while reminding them about Netflorist’s range of products.
Earlier in 2013, Harold made marketing news when he launched #haroldsnews on Twitter and Facebook.
“#haroldsnews is the result of a brief we were given by our up-for-anything client. We wanted a campaign that would create associations with everyday occasions and give people reasons to buy from NetFlorist,” said Draftfcb chief creative officer, Brett Morris.
“The agency’s solution was to continue to use Harold, who has featured in NetFlorist’s advertising before, on radio but to also give him a more socially-relevant voice by taking him to Facebook and Twitter where he provides more tongue-in-cheek, more social commentary than strict breaking news. Obviously, the birth of the royal baby was a topic he couldn’t ignore, either on radio or in the social media spot,” adds Morris.
