The research conducted focuses on five main fields namely: Bio Detection, Communication, Human Elephant Conflict Resolution, Anatomy and Elephant Welfare.

It goes without saying that any research costs a lot of money, especially when it is so focussed in these particular fields. To further raise awareness of the project, as well as funds, a small wooden elephant brooch, handmade by Stiki in South Africa, is now available at Adventures With Elephants, as well as online at www.bushstrap.co.za and soon at www.adventureswithelephants.co.za.

Retailing for R90, these unique elephant brooches depict the African Elephant, so called of course because their ears very much resemble the shape of Africa itself.

This fund-raising drive follows off the back of the announcement that RHERU will host the section on Anti-poaching, technologies and human-elephant conflict at the International Elephant Foundation's conference in Sri Lanka in October 2015. To have been invited to host this section of the conference is a great achievement for the team but is also a sign of trust and a validation of the hard work everyone has been doing over the years.

Together with our team of elephants - Nuanedi, Shan, Chova, Chishuru and Mussina, Adventures With Elephants and RHERU are looking forward to continue their work and establish once and for all how mutually beneficial the human elephant relationship can be for all.
