The anniversary of Freedom Day is a significant occasion in South Africa; it was the first time that all citizens over the age of 18 were able to exercise their right to vote.

Thirty years have passed since then, and it is now our responsibility to protect and maintain the hard-won freedom and equality that came with that historic vote. 

The media has an incredible reach, and that is why it not only has a huge role in promoting equality and diversity but a responsibility to do so.
