Speak2aScientist explores acid mine drainage

In the fourth Speak2aScientist Nanotechnology Series, Dr Leslie Petrik presents a nanotech solution for rising acid mine drainage in Gauteng.

Acid mine drainage - a clean water resource?! “Yes! It is possible using waste fly ash and nanomaterials,” says Dr Leslie Petrik, the leader of the Environmental and NanoSciences group at the Dept of Chemistry, University of the Western Cape.

Join Dr Leslie Petrik at the next Speak2aScientist taking place in the auditorium of the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, Newtown Johannesburg on Thursday, 25 November.
