Season 10 shattered records in 2014 with over 20 million votes cast across the duration of the season. This was a 173% increase on season nine's figures.

"Viewer response to the historic 10th season of Idols SA was phenomenal," says Lani Lombard, head of publicity at M-Net. "We believe that the new season is going to be a show-stopper as well, with surprises lined up from the word go. It's exciting to think that the country's new singing sensation will be somewhere in a long queue at the nationwide auditions."

Idols South Africa season 11 kicks off with auditions at the State Theatre in Pretoria on Saturday, 31 January, followed by Cape Town auditions on Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 February at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World and Durban auditions from Saturday, 21 February at The Playhouse and the final auditions are at Carnival City from Sunday, 1 March.

Contestants need to be South African citizens and between the ages of 16 and 30 in order to enter. Entrants need to have an ID document with them at the auditions and underage contestants have to be accompanied by their parents.
