The electronic version has a content management function which offers users a variety of additional interactive and user-friendly features.
The Redbook traditionally includes print clippings, but as the digital platform evolves, it now includes online and broadcast clips as well. This offering is currently available to Newsclip's Gate5 users. Gate5 is Newsclip's interactive, web-based delivery platform where users can create their own digital 'brag books' through selecting a specific data range.
The options available for creating a brag book include: customising the front cover, book colour and title, adding a logo as well as organising clips according to a particular preference.
Brag books can be used for client presentations, sponsorship, event and campaign feedback and competitor research findings. They can easily be modified, organised, shared and printed via the Redbook platform.
As a result of the national Post Office strike in South Africa in 2014, disrupting the delivery of physical Redbooks, Newsclip launched the Digital Redbook as an alternative means of delivery, as the company prioritises the need for clients to continue receiving clips, despite external factors.
