Sara Poyzer will play Donna Sheridan, with Shobna Gulati as Tanya and Sue Devaney as Rosie, when the Mama Mia! International Tour comes to South Africa. Poyzer has also played Donna in the West End production of Mama Mia! as well as other West End roles including Janet in Rutherford & Son, Emilia in Othello and Mam in Billy Elliot.

Gulati's many television roles include: Sunita Alahan in Coronation Street; Anita in Victoria Wood's award-winning BBC series Dinnerladies; Nisha Clayton in the last ever series of Where the Heart Is for ITV; and, most recently, Fiona in Kay Mellor's new BBC series In the Club.

Devaney's television roles include: Jane in Dinnerladies; she played Liz Harker for four years in Casualty; Rita for three years in Jonny Briggs; and Debbie Webster for two years in Coronation Street.

The cast for South Africa will also star Sara Poyzer's real-life husband, Richard Standing, as Sam Carmichael, Michael Beckley as Bill Austin, Mark Jardine as Harry Bright, Niamh Perry as Sophie Sheridan, Justin Thomas as Sky, Daniella Bowen as Ali, Tara Young as Lisa, Alex Simmons as Pepper and Charlie Stemp as Eddie. The role of Donna will be played at certain performances by Francesca Ellis.

Also in the cast will be Michael Anthony, Holly Ashton, Charlotte Bradford, Devon-Elise Johnson, Matt Kennedy, Gemma Lawson, Scott Mobley, Dean Read, Matthew Ronchetti, Ellie Rutherford, Parisa Shahmir, Katy Stredder, Rhodri Watkins, Tom Stanford-Wheatley, Simon Willmont, Sarah Wilkie and Jamie Wilkin.

The Mama Mia! International Tour is currently in rehearsals with the newly-announced cast in London. They will then perform for a limited season in Liverpool before jetting off to South Africa to perform at the Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg for four weeks.

With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Mama Mia! is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. The production is designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material & arrangements are by Martin Koch.
