Joining Gogol Bordello on Thursday, 6 August are two Capetonian groups who offer a unique blend of punk, gypsy, blues and folk; The Nomadic Orchestra and Mr Cat & The Jackal.  

The Nomadic Orchestra is a five-piece instrumental dance group whose primary goal is to get people moving. The band makes infectious high-energy music and are influenced by Klexmer, gypsy and circus music as well as contemporary western party music.

Mr Cat & The Jackal is a unique five piece multi-instrumental group often described as experimental acoustic folk whilst exploring blues, tango, pirate, Balkan and Irish themes. With a circus of sounds created by foreign and handmade instruments, their live performances are a theatrical experience.

Also joining Twin Atlantic from Scotland and Brand New from the USA on Friday, 7 August, will be Cape Town band, The Plastics. The Plastics have become household names since they broke onto the scene with their debut album Shark which included the track Caves which went to number one on campus radio stations and 5fm’s Rock Chart hosted by Jon Savage. Since then the band released Best Pretenders, which saw them being nominated for two MK Awards for Best Group and Best Indie Band.
