He is also an award-winning entrepreneur who has played a major role in transforming the lives of thousands of students.

Dr Blecher’s dedication to changing educational systems and to developing South African society is testament to his faith in this nation’s future. He brings with him a wealth of experience as a game-changing public figure but also as someone with multiple degrees and an honorary doctorate. His real success came at the age of 27, when he turned away from his career as an actuarial scientist in order to devote his skills to building a free university model – the Community and Individual Development City Campus (CIDA).

Dr. Blecher currently heads many initiatives that aim to create a more educated and employed nation. His presentation at Heavy Chef will highlight the ways in which digital is impacting education and what this means for students.

The event will be hosted at World Wide Creative in Woodstock, Cape Town on Wednesday 30 March at 18:00 for 18:30. Seats are in high demand so be sure to secure yours here.

About Heavy Chef

As an initiative of digital marketing agency World Wide Creative, the Heavy Chef project is a platform for practical learning – where South Africa’s digital community collaborates, shares ideas and discusses the latest web marketing news. The name comes from the expression ‘Never trust a skinny chef’ and the aim is to learn from Heavy Chefs - in other words, those rare folk who eat their own food, walk the talk and practice what they preach.

Heavy Chef is sponsored by GetSmarter, Ad Dynamo, Microsoft SA, World Wide Creative and Backsberg Wines.
