The agency took birds home for two campaign Gold Loeries for Absolut Vodka and HuffPost, one Gold Craft, four Silver, five Bronze, and four Craft Certificates in categories including Television, Film and Video Communication, Integrated Campaign, PR & Media Communication, Media Innovation, Social Media, and Mobile Media.

"It is always great to win at Loeries, but I am particularly proud of our success this year because we won for major iconic brands across a diverse range of categories, demonstrating our positioning as a full-service integrated agency," says Jason Xenopoulos, NATIVE VML CEO and CCO.

He adds, "But what pleases me the most is that we won for work that defies traditional categorisation, which steps beyond advertising and into the realm of popular culture. I’d like to give a huge shout-out to everyone at NATIVE VML for their unwavering determination to do great work, and to our brave clients and partners for trusting us to shepherd their brands into uncharted territory."

NATIVE VML’s Gold-winning campaigns, Absolut One Source and 'Stop the Cycle', enjoyed similar success at Cannes 2017 earlier in the year. With 'Stop the Cycle', HuffPost South Africa teamed up with NATIVE VML to engineer a way to highlight the increased socioeconomic and environmental impact of consumerism and send a message to industries and manufacturers that need to be held accountable.

By utilising Facebook’s 360° technology, the manufacturing cycle of three industry sectors, namely fashion, mobile communications, and chocolate. Absolut One Source saw NATIVE VML team up with award winning Motswako artist Khuli Chana to launch a pan-African musical collaboration. The campaign followed Khuli Chana and other African musicians as they journeyed across Africa to create a concept album of the same name.

"It’s great to see how our work is finding unique ways to deliver stories and entertainment to consumers on behalf of brands, and showcasing again how creativity is the ingredient for shifting the needle. We are also incredibly proud that our own Karmen Wessels received the Best Young Creative Award this year. Another great year for NATIVE VML in a competitive show," concludes Ryan MacManus, NATIVE VML, ECD.
