Lang is moving on after an extended tenure within the Y&R network, originally joining Y&R South Africa from Y&R London (previously known as RKCR/Y&R), where he was the global integrated creative director on the Land Rover account.

Under Lang’s creative stewardship, Y&R South Africa climbed the local creative rankings over the last six years, culminating in the Y&R Africa network being the most awarded African network at Cannes in 2017.

"It’s been a privilege and honour to serve Y&R. I would like to thank Tony Granger (CCO of Y&R Advertising) and all the clients, organisations, and businesses that have given me an opportunity to do what I do. Y&R South Africa has done some pretty incredible work over the last couple of years, across a variety of channels and for a wide spread of brands, and it leaves me excited about the agency’s future," says Lang.

Jason Xenopoulos, chief executive officer of NATIVE VML and Y&R South Africa, adds, "Y&R is entering a new era. We will be consolidating our efforts around the Johannesburg agency, bolstering the leadership team with some significant new appointments, and shifting the agency into a bold new direction."

Lang concludes, "My favourite part of being involved with Y&R South Africa has been to see so many careers blossom and grow. There is so much passion and talent in the agency. Y&R South Africa has a strong creative reputation and with that, and the power of the global network, it will continue to slay giants."
