Miles Murphy, founder and CEO of Liquorice, says, "It’s great to see South African mobile work getting accolades like this on the global stage."

The awards won by Liquorice are:

  • '#NameThemSaveThem' – Jury Special Award (Amarula);
  • '#NameThemSaveThem' – Mobile Website, Gold (Amarula);
  • '#NameThemSaveThem' – Not for Profit, Gold (Amarula);
  • 'U Give/Give a Click' – Not for Profit, Gold (Unilever);
  • 'U Give/Give a Click' – Mobile Social, Gold (Unilever);
  • Mobile Innovation – Bronze (Knorr Dinner on Demand); and
  • '#HouseRules' – Mobile Video, Bronze (SA Home Loans).

Liquorice’s '#NameThemSaveThem' campaign for Amarula won the Jury Special Award and two Golds for its use of mobile to help save African elephants. The mobile platform allowed over 400 000 consumers to name and design their own personal elephants, which were then printed individually on Amarula bottles and sold in-store.

Unilever’s 'U Give/Give a Click' mobile programme (which won two Gold awards) automatically triggers donations by Unilever to a charity every time social content is shared from Unilever brands.
