"Sports represent an exciting new playing field for CSA with incredible growth opportunities for both sports stars and brands in South Africa and on the continent. We’re thrilled to have Glen Tomlinson as MD. He brings a wealth of experience to the company," says Davin Phillips, CSA talent director.
With over two decades in the fields of advertising, sponsorships, traditional and social media, Tomlinson has created numerous sports campaigns and innovative sponsorship strategies for brands over the years.
Previous positions held by Tomlinson include management of Saatchi & Saatchi Synergize’s Johannesburg office as well as the development in Africa for global digital consultancy Nurun, a Publicis Groupe company.
"CSA Sports’ key approach is to create practical solutions for rights holders and brands so that we can extract maximum value for both the rights holder and the sponsors across multiple channels," says Tomlinson.
"We have a solid reputation for our ability to match sponsorship and endorsement opportunities with the requirements and expectations of each brand. At the same time, we take pride in ensuring that the rights negotiated with brands are contracted fairly and professionally," he adds.
CSA has offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lagos and Los Angeles. It has represented personalities such as Bonang Matheba, David Tlale, Heavy-K and Tumi Voster, among others.
CSA Sports has already acquired championship-winning Mamelodi Sundowns players George Lebese and Percy Tau, and Global Top 100 Action Sports skateboarder Jean-marc Johannes, among others.
It also concluded a brand ambassadorship deal for Super Eagles football player Jay Jay Okocha with Nigerian sports betting platform BetKing.
