"It's hard to choose a gift for the guy who insists he has it all. So, for this Father's Day, we have created the KFC soap-on-a-rope; we're pretty sure he doesn't have one of those," says Suhayl Limbada, marketing director at KFC Africa.

Individuals who would like to get a soap-on-a-rope for their dads can share a picture of their Father striking his best 'snack' pose on KFC’s Twitter page. The best ones will receive the soapy, 'chicken-y' delight in their mailboxes.

"[The drumstick] is the best part of the chicken and only the best will do for the men who have been there for us since day one. Also, a chicken thigh-shaped soap just looked weird and a wing was too small," says the team at KFC.

The brand has also indicated that it is using its social media platforms to celebrate the one thing dads are famous for: the 'dad joke'.

"Do we laugh at them? No. Do we love our dads for telling them? Of course. So, we wanted to spread some 'Father's Day joy' by giving dads a light-hearted taste of their own medicine," says Limbada.

KFC has wished all of the fathers and father figures of South Africa a happy and blessed Father's Day, especially in these unprecedented times. "And in case breakfast in bed doesn't quite hit the spot, well, you know where to go," concludes the brand.
