In his new role, Singh will aim to drive new business, operational excellence and take the lead in evolving the agency’s capabilities in data, technology, and creative. The team at MediaCom says that they are confident that this appointment will further drive the company’s vision of unlocking client growth through innovative, digital-forward solutions.
Singh says, "Firstly, I would like to say that I am extremely humbled by the opportunity afforded to me. From a leadership perspective, I appreciate that the company places people at the forefront of its business. For me, it is very important that leaders lead by example, as well as understand the importance of developing people’s potential. I find personal joy in nurturing talent and seeing that blossom."
He adds, "The company’s people-centric culture and extremely seasoned leadership team from around the world give me the assurance that it will be a natural fit; coming from a previous 'Bix Six' agency, I also understand what level of access I need to drive my own personal and career growth.”
“For me, it is very important to create impactful work. I accepted this position because I felt confident that I would be able to do this with the talent and tenacity available at MediaCom," he says.
"Over the years, I found two very particular passion points: Firstly, incubating local, proudly South African business within an agency to unlock exponential business growth. And, secondly, assisting some of the most established global brands to traverse unchartered territory in the online ecosystem — consulting with these brands and leveraging off the learnings to unlock growth for them has been one of the highlights of my career. This is what I want to scale within MediaCom," he adds.
Ashish Williams, CEO of MediaCom SA, says, "Singh’s specialist experience in the digital advertising environment — from programmatic, data-centric solutions to e-commerce — will add tremendous value to our company’s offering. In trying times such as these, it is essential to execute effective, measurable, data-led solutions that drive business for brands."
"Singh earned his stripes in the industry by consulting brands to navigate into the online world, including large local and global brands. This is why we see him as an expert at untapping potential by applying technology in insightful ways," Williams adds.
Singh will be based in Cape Town, which he believes is fast becoming the tech, data, and creative hub of Africa. "Data is the new currency, which is why we are heavily focused on offering a suite of pioneering data solutions. As a connections planning agency, we want to build out our content and data offerings to future-proof the brands we have in our stable, which will be possible through the right partnerships that we have access to within the WPP Group. I foresee MediaCom quickly becoming the agency of choice for brands," he concludes.
