The new categories also aim to celebrate innovative technology initiatives that brands have introduced to help improve the customer experience of the brand, products / services during the crisis.

"As we continue to honour the mobile marketing community by celebrating the best work of the last 12 months, it also is important to celebrate and acknowledge how brands are creating innovative campaigns to connect with their customers and are pivoting to help fight the coronavirus spread," says the team behind the MMA Smarties Awards.

"With that in mind, we have added five categories devoted to COVID-19 campaigns," adds the team.
