Freelancers are personally vetted by Jonathan and Hillel who understand marketing and take a consultative approach to finding the right fit, says the new startup.
Fundi.Digital aims to provide resourcing advice and strategies to businesses that aren't sure about what skills they need to bring their marketing goals to fruition. There are no recruitment fees.
This intends to position the brand as a source of vetted referrals for companies and agencies looking to tap into diverse experts for once-off tasks, needing a go-to team with specialised skills for projects or requiring a dedicated specialist to bolster an in-house team.
Fundi.Digital says that its model works because businesses feel comfortable using freelancers via a personalised pairing system and they are able to access highly skilled individuals at a fraction of the cost of onboarding them full time.
For freelancers, being part of Fundi.Digital's network brings the opportunity to gain exposure with South Africa's top tier agencies and exciting startups, says the founding duo.
"We are a proudly South African company and believe in our country's talents. We have a group of prequalified freelancers who are ready for any task or project you throw at them," says Mayer.
"Our hands-on, consultative approach gives clients the assurance that they are not only matched with the right freelancer for the job but with someone who is an overall great fit and is geared to help them reach their business goals," Mayer adds.
"For the past seven years, we have been working in the digital space for both clients and agencies, exposing us to the many facets and challenges facing businesses today," adds Mayer.
"Recently, we've been increasingly hearing 'Do you know anyone who can do my Google Ads for me?', 'I need someone to build me a Wordpress site' and 'Please put me in touch with that freelancer who does your SEO'," says Chemel.
"As our network grew through years of being in the industry, we found that we became a trusted source of recommendations of freelancers to businesses and agencies. In the process, we were also growing a network of strong freelancers. As it kept happening, we knew we had to, and could, fill the gap," concludes Chemel.
Fundi.Digital says that it has shown consistent growth since its launch, doubling its profits month on month and boasting a big pipeline of exciting work.
Within 18 months, it aims to have 200 businesses supported by Fundi.Digital's freelancers. Ultimately, Fundi.Digital strives to be the biggest freelancing marketplace for the marketing industry.
