The brand says that since the successful launch of its 'Perfectly Made for Each Other' campaign in October 2019, it has noticed how many customers (small and large) have entrusted their products to fit Consol's glass packaging.

"Given the tough times we are facing as a country, Consol wants to acknowledge and support the small businesses who make use of its glassy products," says the brand.

Consol has indicated that it has invested in paid media to reach those consumers who already have an appreciation for glass products. To kick start this collaboration, Consol has partnered with three customers:
  • Quinnies
  • FruitLips and
  • Just Ginger.
The partners have indicated that they are all pleased with the traction their products have gained on social media, collectively reaching over 400 000 people with their status posts to date.

Quinnies produces home-made fudge, which is packaged in variously sized Consol jars. Charlene McQuinn, owner of Quinnies, says, "To us, it means teamwork and providing a platform to encourage mutual benefit."

FruitLips creates fresh, homemade jams, marmalades, chutneys and fruit in syrup. Being freshly made, these products use no colourants or preservatives. "We received more enquiries than usual and it was a lovely experience working with Consol to create more of a presence online," says Liebre Jacobs, general manager of FruitLips.

Just Ginger is a brand inspired by the locally acclaimed Setswana non-alcoholic ginger beer Gemere. Its artisanal brews are fermented to perfection and free of preservatives and artificial flavourings and are packaged in 250ml and 2l Consol bottles.

Consol would like to work with more SMMEs that choose glass for their packaging, helping them to promote and grow their businesses through a 'perfectly made' partnership.

"The relationships we have with our customers are at the heart of our 'Perfectly Made' campaign," concludes Marlene Scott, Consol's brand manager. "We look forward to sharing even more exciting glassy products through our 'Consol Collab' campaign to support those incredible gems that go unnoticed way too often."
