Having been at New Balance for seven years, Austin has worked in various departments and takes on the marketing manager role with a broad understanding of the business's operations.

She joined New Balance in 2014 as a marketing assistant and her role was to provide support to the national sales manager and the sales team to ensure all New Balance strategic marketing plans were implemented successfully instore and online across wholesale and key accounts to meet business objectives.

In 2017, Austin's title changed to trade marketing coordinator, still forming part of the marketing team. She was then promoted to retail brand presentation coordinator in 2020.

She worked closely with the national retail manager to co-ordinate and execute the creativity of launch assets, as well as manage all suppliers to ensure the successful rollout of campaigns, promotions and activations across all New Balance stores nationwide.

"I'm excited and thrilled to take on this new role. I have worked closely with the marketing team since my start in 2014, working on big projects such as the New Balance partnerships with Comrades Marathon and Cricket South Africa," says Austin.

"I believe that the experience I have acquired across the business will be valuable to the team. I'm also a keen 'working mom athlete', so working for a sports brand like New Balance is an absolute cherry on top for me," adds Austin.

"I am delighted for Angie on her appointment. We believe that this new role will empower her and the marketing team to do great work and take the New Balance brand to the next level," says Craig Bowen, country manager New Balance South Africa.

"Austin's experience, passion and commitment to the brand is what awarded her this opportunity and we truly believe that she will be of great value in executing our commercial plans and brand strategy," concludes Bowen.
