The World Out-of-Home Organization (WOO) has announced that Germany's Kai-Marcus Thäsler will tell delegates that smart cities are much more than advertising opportunities at the upcoming WOO Europe Regional Forum in Milan. The Europe Forum will take place from Monday, 4 November to Wednesday, 6 November.
Smart cities have the potential to be giant social media networks reaching mass audiences through targeted campaigns while at the same time making urban life more pleasant and productive, says WOO.
Thäsler, an acknowledged digital expert, is Managing Director of Germany's Outdoor Media Association (FAW, Fachverband Aussenwerbung e.V.) and, at the same time, Professor of Digital Marketing at the University of Economy and Management (FOM) in Hanover. He is also a WOO board member, says the organisation.
WOO CMO Richard Saturley says, "Smart cities are the future of Out-of-Home in many respects and there is no better guide than Kai-Marcus Thäsler to both their evolving opportunities but also the pitfalls if they are not developed in a creative, responsible and sustainable way. Kai is a brilliant communicator and this is a must-see element of our Europe Regional Forum in Milan."
WOO concludes that Ströer Co-CEO, Christian Schmalzl and WOO favourite Dino Burbidge have already been announced as speakers and WOO will be revealing more speakers in the coming weeks.
