Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP) is chewing life with the likes of Nas, P.Diddy and Kanye at a Hip Hop Conference in New York, as well as a whirlwind tour of the United States, courtesy of Stimorol. HHP was invited by the Washington DC-based organisation BloomsBars (a non-profit artist incubator and arts advocacy organization) and jetted off to the US on Friday, 15 January.
HHP received the invitation in recognition of his talent as a recording artist coupled with his ‘selfless commitment to serving his community’. As an ‘artist incubator’, BloomBars seeks to support artists who support their communities, and to create linkages between artist communities and nonprofit organisations. BloomBars believes passionately, as does HHP and Stimorol, that art and artists have the power to change people; communities; and the world.

HHP, who stars in the Stimorol brand commercial and recently seen in Stimorol’s one-of-a-kind stretch limo taxi, is the perfect brand icon. He’s one of South Africa’s foremost hip-hop stars and a double
SAMA-Award winning artist, not to mention the founder of his own record label. He is also a man with a message, that of togetherness, which he communicates by creating music that cuts across genres; cultures; and boundaries.
The BloomBars tour will see the local superstar rubbing shoulders and collaborating musically with the likes of American rapper, Nas, and one half of acclaimed hip hop group Unspoken Heard and founder of the Hip-Hop Education Literacy Programme (H.E.L.P), Asheru. He will also attend the
BET Awards, which are honouring the likes of legendary songstress Whitney Houston, multifaceted entertainer Queen Latifah, and respected business mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
Other highlights include a luncheon to raise funds necessary to send 15 girls in foster care to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa in June; a workshop with the
Ghandi Brigade; and several meetings and discussion groups with Metro Teen AIDS. He will also visit schools and community centres and perform his trademark Motswako music at an open-mic night at BloomBars with Jabari Exum.
