The postal outlets are manned by fully trained and qualified postal staff. These postal outlets offer products and services such as postage stamps, envelopes, ordinary and recorded mail acceptance and delivery items such as registered secure mail, parcels as well as insured and foreign mail. They also offer third party payments such as municipal accounts payment, motor vehicle licence renewal which available in 34 offices, Telkom payments and SABC Television license payments.
The banking services offered is Postbank deposits, withdrawals and investments. The services also include lotto services, airtime purchases and speed services courier. Private boxes services are available at selected branches.
The retail Post Office agencies are operated by external host companies on behalf of the Post Office. These offices offer basic services such as stamps, envelopes, acceptance and delivery of ordinary, recorded items and parcels. Other services include airtime purchases and third party payments such as municipal accounts payment, Telkom payments and SABC Television license payments.
“The South African Post Office realises that if patrons are aware of the types of offices and services available they will be able to enjoy a better level of service,” commented regional communications specialist Nobuhle Njapha.
Majority of the Post Office branches are open from 08:00 till 17:00 on weekdays and 08:00 till 13:00 on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
