This promotion, the first of its kind for McDonald’s South Africa, is set to offer McDonald’s customers the most enticing rewards ever. The prize pool will include more than 1.6 million prizes with a total value in excess of R38-million.

"Since its launch 10 years ago, McDonald’s Monopoly promotion has established a proven track record as one of the most successful promotions McDonald’s has run the world over. We are thrilled to be introducing McDonald’s Mzansi Millions Monopoly to our customers in the South African market,” said Daniel Padiachy, marketing director for McDonald’s South Africa.

The McDonald’s Monopoly promotion has shown significant growth across the globe since its launch in the US and Canada, followed by the UK and Europe, Asia, Latin America and, most recently, South Africa. The promotion will run in South Africa over six weeks from Monday, 8 October to Sunday, 18 November, and customers will have a 1 in 4 chances of winning a share of over 1.6 million prizes.

With the purchase of any breakfast value meal or medium meal from the McDonald’s menu, customers will receive one McDonald’s Mzansi Millions Monopoly game label. With the purchase of every large or extra-large meal, customers will receive two McDonald’s Mzansi Millions Monopoly game labels. Each game label will reveal two game pieces which participating customers will use to play the McDonald’s Mzansi Millions Monopoly game. The game pieces will be either two Collect to Win colour property pieces, or a Collect to Win and an Instant Win piece.

The Collect to Win colour property pieces represent the big value prizes. As in the famous board game, customers will be expected to collect a complete set of two or three colour property game pieces to win the big prizes, as per the property sets shown on the official McDonald’s Mzansi Millions game board which will be available on tray-liners in-store and through the Drive Through, or by downloading and printing a copy from www.mcdonalds.co.za.
