The campaign sees a handful of lucky South African consumers win an all-expenses paid trip to the Island of Ibiza – an island that entices adventure and exploration. “What better way for winners to claim their passport to Ibiza than a contemporary island style treasure hunt,” says Renzo Puccini, brand manager for Olmeca Tequila SA. “We’ve taken it a step further by taking potential winners to the island in real-time using a styled instance of Google Maps.”

A bespoke website featuring a customised instance of Google Maps, which has hidden markers on the island, will prompt participants and allow them to zoom into the part of the island where they believe a marker is hidden. Once close enough to the marker location, they are flipped into Google Street view where a final marker will need to be clicked to reveal one of five bottles from the Olmeca Tequila range. Each unlocked bottle is a step closer to winning.

“The Olmeca Tequila Ibiza Nights Challenge is a fun and engaging way of raising brand awareness and increasing consumer loyalty and we’re confident that this campaign will go a long way in terms of cementing the brands’ positioning as a leader in the nightlife scene,” says Puccini.
