The Paardevlei Specialist Medical Centre is the product of a small group of specialists who envisaged a medical facility that would be owned and managed by the doctors who operate in it, and that would rival the best in the world in terms of patient care, affordability, patient, doctor and staff comfort, technology and prestige.

To realise their dream, the group which originally comprised of five Ophthalmologists and an Anaesthetist, and now includes Ear, Nose and Throat, as well as Maxillo-Facial specialists, partnered with Cure Day Clinics, known as one of the best in terms of expertise and experience in the operation of Day Hospital facilities, to form Cure Day Clinics Somerset West.

Tenants of the building include: Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, Hearing Specialist, Speech Therapist, Social Worker and a Specialist Dental Centre. The Paardevlei Specialist Medical Centre will also house a Discovery Consultation Services office and Legal & Lawyer firm.

The initial conglomerate of medical specialists teamed up with local property heavyweight, Lazercor Developments, to form CJM Investments (Pty) Ltd, a private development company tasked with initiating and overseeing the design, development and construction of the Medical Centre.

Additional sectional title purchasers in the Medical Centre scheme include a Radiology Unit and Pathology Lab, with developers currently in negotiations to secure a small, exclusive Dialysis Centre. The Paardevlei Specialist Medical Centre is also open to investor-purchasers and suitable tenants.

Somerset Eye Centre (a group of five specialist ophthalmologists in the Somerset West and Helderberg area) will occupy 600m2 in Paardevlei Specialist Medical Centre and will establish a dedicated Eye Clinic where specialised facilities and equipment will be shared between their individual practices to provide excellent and convenient quality care to their existing patients.

Cure Day Clinics Somerset West day hospital is housed in the in Paardevlei Specialist Medical Centre in Somerset West, opposite the Somerset Mall. The hospital specialise in ambulatory surgery which is also known as same-day surgery which does not require overnight stay. Same-day surgery has grown internationally and locally due to the improvements in medical technology and anaesthesia, leading to faster recovery times and fewer side effects. Cure Day Clinics strive to provide quality, affordable and specialised day surgery.
