Media24 has announced that an offer to sell its private education business, Educor, has been accepted. After discussions with ICESA Education Services, in which Media24 was satisfied that the two businesses were compatible and that the buyer agreed with Educor's strategy of growth, the agreement was concluded. Currently, ICESA operates across about 40 private education campuses, mostly in KwaZulu-Natal, and focuses on Further Education and Training. The deal is still subject to several conditions, including the securitisation of appropriate approvals from regulatory authorities and the Competition Commission. Educor will be sold as a going concern. It includes Damelin College, Damelin High School (60%), Damelin Correspondence College, Intec College, Lyceum College and City Varsity. However, Media24 will retain some assets, such as the Milpark Business School and an investment in Curro, an independent school group. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed, by agreement of both parties.
