Produced by Banana Boat Productions and written by Trinidadian writer Zeno Obi Constance, the play delves into the love life of a Caribbean teenager with her high school teacher.
“I’m so excited to be a working actor in New York finally. Everyone is on the same grind as you, so when you finally get to work, you know you are the right person for the job,” said Mosiana who is the newest addition to the New Perspectives Theatre Company in Manhattan’s Theatre District.
Mosiana’s journey to break through into the Big Apple competitive industry follows her bold decision to pack her bags two years ago to attend the New York Film Academy. Now a graduate, Mosiana realises the industry, as much as it is fierce, offers a lot of opportunities. She is not limiting herself either. During August, she will walk down the ramp as a plus size model on a show themed around something closer to heart; social justice.
“The show is themed after the black lives matter movement and it is called Black Privilege. I’m really excited,” she says.
Born and Raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, this University of the Witwatersrand trained thespian has starred in shows such as
Othello, directed by Dr John Kani . She was also part of the silver screen ensemble of
Donkerland as well as big screen acts in Francis Gavin’s
Lucky.
