Held in one of the busiest areas of Cape Town, Woodstock Open Mic is aimed at locals and tourists. A vibey and eclectic spot, Three Feathers Diner is situated in the city streets of Woodstock, across from the Old Biscuit Mill, and is known for its gourmet burgers.

Lee says, “I decided to start and host the Woodstock Open Mic because I realised that there are not that many great platforms and opportunities for upcoming artists. It is difficult for singer-songwriters and bands to get their foot in the door and develop their live repertoire. Three Feathers Diner on a Saturday afternoon is great because it is a trendy, busy and inviting spot. Every aspiring artist wants a space and a place where they can showcase what they’ve got and this is the spot to do so.”

The day is open to any musician or singer-songwriter who wants to perform, and all levels of musical ability.

It’s on a first come first serve basis. Those artists who wish to perform will need to write their names down on a list at the door. The first person goes live at 12:00, so it is important to get their early. Artists will get to perform for 15 minutes.

Musicians will need to supply their own instruments and backing tracks, preferably on a USB or iPod/Phone. A microphone and aux cable will be made available.

Three Feathers Diner is a child-friendly venue so no profanity is allowed during the performances.
