Zoopy has just launched its new site and new branding, almost a year after the second version of Zoopy was launched. The revamped Zoopy branding reflects a more mature brand, which the team feels is necessary to keep the brand aligned with the company’s future.

The site has been redesigned completely, resulting in what the team feels is “a cleaner, fresher environment”. The media type categories have also been renamed. On the old site media was divided into videos, photos, podcasts and blogs. The team decided to change the last two categories to audio and notes. According to the Zoopy blog, this change was made because “this removes the expectations of the media types and opens users up to more freedom in the way they use sound and text”.

The new Zoopy also boasts a better, faster upload and processing system and two slideshow options. A new section called ‘Topics’ combines all content produced by users and content produced by the Zoopy team around a certain topic that is particularly significant to South Africa or the world. For example, the current featured topic is South African Elections 2009.

Zoopy TV is now a separate platform within the site, showcasing content produced by Zoopy’s multimedia content teams.

A brand new WAP site has also been launched, m.zoopy.com, allowing users to do everything via their mobile phones. The site is compatible with 99% of handsets and videos can be watched at the download size that best suits the user, and their airtime package.
