Juliet McGuire, editor of Women on Wheels, says, "For this year’s issue, I wanted our readers to enjoy a more visual experience. I didn’t want to detract from the informative and entertaining aspects, but cars can be so beautiful that I felt it would be an overall greater experience to include some incredible pictures. The Timeless Beauty piece is one such example. These gorgeous icons make loving cars so easy."

She adds, "Just because Women on Wheels is not as technical as some other publications, it doesn’t mean we don’t believe women aren’t interested in cars, we believe the opposite, in fact. More and more women are buying cars, and the industry is standing up and taking note."

"As with the Women on Wheels website, we want this magazine to be the one stop shop for all things motoring related – for women, and even for men. I believe we have a unique product that appeals to a wide variety of tastes. Whether you have a passion for cars or just want to know what is going on in the motoring world, we cover it all," she says.

"There is a classic car piece featuring timeless beauties and breathtaking road trip pics submitted by Women on Wheels readers in the #LoveLocal Canon competition,” adds McGuire. "And who doesn’t love a road trip? Making the most of exploring our beautiful country, we’ve put together a list of 15 drives perfect for your adventure bucket list."

The 2017 issue has an Italian twist with Fiat appearing on the cover. "Not only do we love this little Italian car, but it was great fun following fashion blogger Nadia Jaftha around as she hit the road in the 500C."

McGuire says that with so many cars being launched every year, it can be hard to keep up, even as a motoring journalist. “I wanted our readers to be aware of what it is they can look forward to this year. This can also be extremely helpful when it comes to buying a new car, just to know whether or not you should wait for the new model or if you want to save a buck or two and instead buy the outgoing one," she concludes.

On sale now, the issue is bagged with Marie Claire (R34.90), Cosmopolitan (R34.90), and House & Leisure (R44).
