The event will take place on Wednesday, 18 October to Saturday, 21 October at the V & A Waterfront. Guests will have the opportunity to speak to names in the industry’s different disciplines.

Just some of the industry professionals that will be taking part are:

  • Sharlto Copley – Copley played the role of Wikus van der Merwe in Neil Blomkamp’s District 9. Copely will take part in a number of sessions and will be reflecting upon his skills as a screenwriter, producer, and director; 
  • Aron Warner (producer/writer) – Warner is an Academy Award®-winning producer of the animated blockbusters Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, and the latest instalment, Shrek Forever After;
  • Mike Auret – is the managing director of Spier Films and is known for his involvement in The Salvation (co-producer), Young Ones (producer), Of Good Report (producer), and Black Butterflies (Producer). Auret will take part in a discussion on the benefits of co-production along with representatives from the NFVF and Wesgro; 
  • Todd Brown – Brown will be hosting a Film Distribution workshop alongside Mike Auret and Clement Virgo, among others. Brown is the founder and editor of international film website Screen Anarchy (formerly TwitchFilm.com) and the director of international programming for Fantastic Fest; and 
  • Clement Virgo –  Virgo is a Canadian film and television writer, producer, and director who runs the production company, Conquering Lion Pictures, with producer Damon D'Oliveira.

Tuesday, 17 October:

  • The Tale Of The World's A Stage (14:00 to 15:00) is in conversation with Antoinette Louw, Christia Visser, and Lee-Ann Van Rooi and will be moderated by Louw Venter;
  • The Tale Of How Behind Every Actor Is A Die Hard Agent And Casting Director is in conversation with Moonyeenn Lee, Christa Schamberger Young, and Suzanne Smith Boje and will be moderated by Adrian Galley (Saga); and 
  • The Tale Of The Multi-Faceted Director (18:00 to 19:00) is in conversation with Uga Carlini (Alison), Brett Michael Innes (Sink), and Virgo (The Book of Negroes, The L Word) and will be moderated by Sharlto Copley.

Wednesday, 18 October:

  • The Tale of the Sound of Music (14:00 to 15:00) is in conversation with Loki Rothman, James Matthes, and Michael Broomberg and will be moderated by Donovan Copley; and
  • The Tale of the Weavers (18:00 to 19:00) is in conversation with colourist David Grant (Shepherd’s and Butcher’s), editor Saki Bergh (Die Antwoord and Wonderboy for President), and Craig Parker (Mad Max Fury Road) and will be moderated by Ronelle Loots.

Thursday, 19 October:

  • The Tale of the Film Critics (14:00 to 15:00) is in conversation with Laetitia Pople, Katie Reynolds, Theresa de Klerk, and Alin Tasciyan (President of FRIPRECI) and will be moderated by Ilza Roggeband; and
  • The Tale of Two Brothers (18:00 to 19:00) is in conversation with Sharlto and Donovan Copley and will be moderated by Uga Carlini.

Friday, 20 October:

  • The Tale of the Film Festival Secrets (14:00 to 15:00) is in conversation with Leon van der Merwe (CTIFMF), Trevor Steele Taylor, and Azza El Hosseiny (Luxor Film Festival) and will be moderated by Giam Pietro Balia (programmer at several film festivals in Europe); and 
  • The Couch Potato Lucky Packet (18:00 to 19:00) is in conversation with Josie Borain (South Africa's first supermodel), Schalk Burger (Springbok, winemaker, and director of arts festival KKNK), Izelle Venter (former HuisgenootDrum, and You editor-in-chief and now VIA channel head), and Jack Parow (musician) and will be moderated by Sharlto Copley.
