KFC SoundBite events are exclusive live performance events. Each of these events
are streamed via
Facebook live. All unsigned artists can upload their tracks on the KFC SoundBite website for free and individuals have the opportunity to push their favourite artist up the chart by streaming tracks, sharing to social media, and adding them to their playlist.
Below are the artists selected to perform at the next KFC SoundBite exclusive live performance event.
DJ Lae
Lae is an Old Trap EDM DJ and producer. He has produced hits such as
Ltido's Oh No,
Cassper Nyovest's
Ngiyekeleni (featuring
Grammy Award-winning Black Thought) and has also co-produced
still down on Maggz' new album. His single, titled
Body, featuring Nigerian producer Tspize and
iindirhe, made it to Channel O Africa's Hot20 charts.
Abangani Bethu
The Abangani Bethu group have a track called
Nje Ngo Zodwa, which is currently number 12 on the charts. The group is made up of Njabulo Mkhize, Sihle May, and Khetho Zulu. Their music combines African music with house, aiming to create a new authentic sound. The
Nje Ngo Zodwa track has been downloaded 3 688 times on datafile host.
DJ Abza
Abza has a track called
iGolide, which is currently number 17 on the charts. He is a hip-hop and house music producer, who also taps into various genres such as Kwaito and Trapsoul. In 2012, he worked with Nemza (from Skatta Kamp) on his solo album titled
Destiny, where he produced five tracks. He also worked with Nyovest and other producers on the mixtape titled
Birth-Mark (2010) and on
Nyovet's single titled
Baby Girl. He recently produced Gigi Lamayne's track –
1 Bar.
Cool Prince
Cool Prince has a track called
All Night, which is currently at number 22 on the charts. He released a music video earlier in the year for his single
Sammy Sosa, resulting in high rotation on different radio stations. The music video was shown regularly on MTV Base. He was featured in
Hype Magazine and was recently interviews on
Gagasi FM.
Alpha Royce
Royce has a track called
No Love, which is currently number 59 on the charts. She studied towards getting her bachelor of arts degree in media studies at the University of the Witwatersrand and then decided to focus on music full time in her final year in 2016. Her sound combines R&B and hip-hop, as well as elements of other genres.
Nelz
Nelz has a track called
Balele, which is currently number 74 on the charts. She made the decision to pursue a career in music in her first year of varsity at
Mangosuthu University of Technology. She entered
The Hustle, which was aired on Vuzu AMP and made it to the Top 10, then became the last female
Mcee to be eliminated. She is one of the 2017
Best Female nominees at the
South African Hip Hop Awards.
Inner Boyz
The Inner Boyz Durban kwaito group have a track called
I-Bus Lomjolo, which is currently at number 83 on the charts. The group was formed in 2010 by Philani Sibiya (also known as Jukes), Luvo Msindo (also known as Slovas), Siyanda Ntokozo Ntuli (also known as Snacks), and DJ
Thukzin (Thuthuka Zindlovo). They have worked with the likes of Madala Kunene and were recently on
Algoa FM.
DynastyFutureBetty
DynastyFutureBetty has a track called
Get Down, which is currently number 90 on the charts. She started rapping at the age of 12 and has started a movement called 'I am not a female rapper'. She writes her own material and her music is inspired by Okmalumekoolkat.
