Stywe Lyne/Tight Lines was launched as a monthly fishing magazine, aiming to cover all facets of recreational fishing in both fresh and saltwater. From Monday, 1 January 2018 it will join Annecat’s three existing specialist recreational fishing publications, Die Oewerhengelaar/The Bank Angler, The Bass Angler/Die Baarshengelaar, and The Carp Angler.

"The first edition under our name will be the February 2018 issue, and all existing contracts with advertisers and readers remain in force," says Annecat managing member Werner Lubbe.

"Our three established magazines specialise in freshwater disciplines and species, and the acquisition of Stywe Lyne/Tight Lines now enables us to bring the same level of recreational fishing expertise and entertainment to the saltwater and angling tourism sector," he adds.

“As such, we will be utilising our proven publishing skills to offer readers and advertisers information and entertainment about fishing off the beach, rocks, and from a boat, as well as a kayak or jet ski, while both fresh and saltwater species available at angling resorts and destinations around the country, and further afield, will also enjoy coverage," he says.

"Traditional readers prefer the printed versions, but the reach of social platforms, such as our Facebook page and digital magazines, combine to deliver a cost-effective and creditable shop window to advertisers, while we can very quickly also communicate with readers," adds Lubbe.

Two Annecat magazines are currently members of the Audit Bureau of Circulation, which includes The Bank Angler and The Bass Angler, with the bi-monthly The Carp Angler in process – to be followed in 2018 by the fourth one, Stywe Lyne/Tight Lines.
