The station kicked off festivities with a joint party on the SABC 3 morning show Expresso, which also celebrated its birthday this October. Additionally, The Roger Goode Show headed to Cape Town on Thursday, 4 October.

On Friday, 12 October, The Roger Goode Show broadcasted live from Starbucks in Rosebank, Johannesburg for the official pre-birthday celebrations, where one listener won free coffee for a year.

Resident hip-hop artist Ms Cosmo will be broadcasting her show, The Stir Up (19:00 to 22:00), live from Pop Bottles on Sunday, 14 October from Ramblers Club in Bloemfontein, alongside some of South Africa's hip-hop DJs.

On Saturday, 27 October, 5FM is hosting its official birthday party at Taboo nightclub in Sandton, Johannesburg. Listeners will have an opportunity to win tickets to the party across all the shows. They can also buy tickets at the door on the day for R200.
