Through several partnered events, listeners will find 5FM and its DJs at events in the major cities. The first event kicks off with Capsule Fest, which takes place on Saturday, 24 November.

This year’s event headliner is Californian rapper Vince Staples, who will be supported by South African acts that include the likes of AKA, Riky Rick, Babes Wodumo, Shane Eagle and DJ Speedsta.

The street culture festival aims to deliver elements of urban culture – from art to music and 'streetwear enthusiasts'. The event kicks off at 14:00 and Nicole da Silva will broadcast her show The Weekend Playdate from the event in Zone 6 in Soweto from 14:00 to 17:00. Tickets to the event are R200 for general access and R400 for VIP, and are available at Computicket.

The Global Citizen Festival Mandela 100 takes place on Sunday, 2 December at FNB Stadium and 5FM is one of the SABC radio stations supporting the event as official media partners.

The event has, since 2012, assisted with various global goals, raising both awareness and funds for interventions ranging from alleviating poverty to education.

5FM has hosted competitions in order to give away tickets to its listeners, including a school initiative where they asked high school students to show off their community work in order to win tickets for their school. The radio station will provide live links from the event, which includes international performers Beyonce, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Usher and more.

5FM’s Rob Forbes and Fix Moeti will be broadcasting live from the Plett Rage student festival. The event will be held from Sunday, 2 December to Saturday, 8 December. The Forbes and Fix Show will broadcast live from the event on Tuesday, 4 December and Wednesday, 5 December from 12:00 to 15:00. 5FM DJs on the decks during Plett Rage week include Das Kapital, Kyle Cassim and Roger Goode.

The Goldfish Outdoor Experience, powered by 5FM, will be held on Saturday, 15 December at Val Bonne Country Estate in Johannesburg. Event-goers will experience a day of live entertainment by award-winning band Goldfish and other local music acts, including 5FM DJs Kyle Cassim, Ms Cosmo and Ryan the DJ.

Ticket prices are between R180 to R350 for adults, R50 for children under the age of 13 and R80 for anyone under the age of 18. Tickets can be purchased from www.goldfishfamily.howler.co.za.

5FM will host to five New Years events starting on Tuesday, 31 December. H20 at Wild Waters in Boksburg, Johannesburg will play host to DJ Black Coffee, and tickets are priced at R149 to R249 for general access and between R249 and R349 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased from www.h2o.howler.co.za.

The Secrets of Summer New Year’s Eve Beach Party will take place at the Pristine Riverclub Golf Course Estate in Cape Town. The event will play host to headliners Shapeless from Brazil, Kyle Watson, Chunda Munki, Pascal & Pearce, Dean Fuel as well as 5FM DJs Nick Hamman, Das Kapital and Ryan the DJ. Tickets range from R420 for general access to R880 for VIP. Limited Early Bird Tickets are available at www.howler.co.za/sosnye.

The Ballito New Year’s Eve Street Party will be held at Sandra Road and Crush Night Club in the KwaZulu-Natal. Headliners include Chunda Munki and TiMo ODV, and individuals can purchase tickets at www.webtickets.co.za. Ticket prices range from R250 to R450.

The Southbroom New Year’s Eve Beach Party will be held at Southbroom Main Beach and will play host to a line-up of DJs. There are strictly no under 18-year-olds allowed and tickets are between R250 to R400 and are available from www.webtickets.co.za.

Plett Summer NYE 2018 takes place at Plettenberg Bay Primary School with acts including 5FM DJs Roger Goode and Kyle Cassim. The event includes several other local acts on two stages for 18 hours. The event also has a strict no under 18-year-olds policy and tickets are available from R200 at www.howler.co.za.
