The food show JAN was voted Best Variety Show while the agricultural TV show Nisboere was named Magazine Show of the Year.

"We are overwhelmed by the two SAFTA Awards for VIA and Media24, and we are proud to have helped share this top-quality Afrikaans content with the world," says Izelle Venter, channel head of VIA. "We are truly thankful to the production teams and the talent who made all four these SAFTA-nominated shows possible."

New seasons of the two award-winning shows will air on the Afrikaans lifestyle channel later this year. The fourth season of Nisboere starts on Tuesday, 9 April at 21:00 while the second season of JAN is scheduled to start in spring.

In Nisboere, the presenters Chris de Clerq, Malixole 'Mali' Gwatyu, Anrich Herbst, and Dr Simonia Magardie meet agricultural entrepreneurs farming on small plots on land. The show is made possible by Laeveld Agrochem. In the fourth season, the presenters continue their search for the best niche farmers in South Africa.

In the first season of JAN, viewers are able to follow South Africa’s first Michelin-star chef on a culinary adventure to Apricale, Italy where he aims to find inspiration for his gourmet restaurant. In the upcoming season, viewers will be given a more in-depth look into his restaurant in Nice, France.
