For a third year running, 5FM is partnering with global charity race ‘Wings for Life World Run’, a Redbull initiative. The race raises funds and awareness for spinal cord injuries and has many participants worldwide who choose to run for those who can’t.

The race doesn’t have a defined finish line, with participants seeing how far they can go until they are caught by the ‘Catcher Car’. The Catcher Car is the moving finish line of the ‘Wings for Life World Run’.

Runners get a head start and 30 minutes later the car begins its pursuit. Once it passes a runner, their race is over. This year, the Catcher Car will be driven by 5FM presenter Nick Hamman.

Entries close on Thursday, 2 May and costs R175 with 100% of proceeds going towards spinal cord injury research. Go to www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com for more information.
