The award will be bestowed to the winner at the fifth Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum’s conference, exhibition and awards.

The event will be hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from Tuesday, 29 October to Wednesday, 30 October. The theme will be 'Enhancing impact: digitalisation, investment and intra-African trade'.

Entries for the African Women in Media Award must offer valuable insights into African female entrepreneurs, while appealing to a global audience.

The award is open to African woman journalists and bloggers, whether directly employed or freelancers, working in the continent of Africa. Applicants must have produced a story that has been broadcasted or published in English, French, Portuguese or Arabic.

The story must be in the form of a printed publication, a television feature, a radio story, a website or a blog that has a primary audience based in Africa.

Individuals are encouraged to apply and/or share it with others who have broadcasted or published stories about African Women Entrepreneurs. Applicants can enter between Tuesday, 1 January and Sunday, 15 September.

The deadline for entries is Sunday, 15 September. The finalists will be announced on Tuesday, 1 October, while the winner will be announced on Wednesday, 30 October. Applicants are encouraged to apply here.
