According to FTW, when considering the timeframes and distribution of a weekly publication, it was evident that it was difficult to produce news in a weekly print format competitively when there was the option of online distribution.

FTW has also indicated that its features — which covered issues more in-depth, were less time-sensitive and were enjoyed by its readers — will also be continued in the online / print hybrid format.

Features will be produced weekly in a PDF format and distributed via email and on the new freightnews.co.za website. Each month, these features will be gathered into a compendium, printed and distributed.

Individuals are encouraged to watch out for its first feature, Agriculture, online this week. The first compendium will be distributed in early June, including:
  • Agriculture
  • Airfreight
  • Technology and Industry 4.0, and
  • Namibia features.
"We maintain our strong editorial staff who are keen to engage as always; I invite you to send them your news or issues you would like them to follow up," says news editor Eugene Goddard.

"We have over 10 000 registered readers. If you would like to promote your business to our audience of importers, exporters and industry providers, please email our sales director Linda Van Der Pol at [email protected]," concludes Goddard.
