"We are inviting listeners to voice note us your funny Christmas stories to 084 822 0938 with '#SMASH2020' and we could invite you to smash a piñata filled with vouchers live in studio," says the station.

Mix 93.8 FM has also recently donated a netball kit to the Mighty Queens netball team from Olievenhoutbosch. Presenter Damian Schmidt saw a post on a Facebook community group where the team, consisting of young school girls who can't afford the equipment, asked for secondhand equipment.

Mix 93.8 FM reached out and gifted them with balls, clothes and equipment. They went on to make the top four of their league in a tournament the weekend following.

"We are very proud of what they have achieved and wish them all the best on their journey forward," concludes the station.

Mix 93.8 FM has also promoted and supported the cause of Daniella Van Zyl, a 26-year-old woman who was diagnosed with Philadelphia Chromosome Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Ph+ALL).

The rare type of blood cancer requires her to have a lifesaving Bone Marrow Transplant. The cost of the treatment is R1 500 000 and is not covered by her medical aid. Currently, Daniela's 'Back A Buddy' campaign has raised just over R700 000.
