Missing children, drug abuse, crime, conscience, forgiveness, greed and unrequited love… You’ll find it all in the much-anticipated second season of Erfsondes, starting 14 April at 19.30 only on SABC 2.

In the exciting new season of Erfsondes, Kate (Jana Strydom) finds herself in the world of her dreams: she’s married to Chris (Emmanuel Castis), one of the wealthiest men in Johannesburg; and is the recent mother of a set of twins.

But during the course of the season’s 13 episodes, Kate will learn that having a family is not always the fairytale she dreamed of while growing up in an orphanage.

For Kate, the ghosts of the past will again come to haunt as her and her family face the sins of their fathers. It is how they deal with this in the present that will determine their future.

The prevailing theme in Erfsondes 2 is Motherhood. Having grown up in an orphanage Kate is unclear as to what motherhood entails, constantly grappling with the idea and consequences of her actions.

In addition to the regular cast, Erfsondes 2 sees the rise of many antagonists. There’s Amoré Fouché (Erika Wessels), Captain Pote Du Toit (Ian Roberts), Constable Thandeka Moloi (Thalyta Ndima) and Sam Spencer (Catriona Andrew).

Gay couple Ricci (Mortimer Williams) and Wong (Terence Bridget) return to run the Events For Africa business and viewers can once again look forward to each episode having a self-contained story.

Erfsondes 2 is produced by Imani Media with Henriëtta Gryffenberg as the associate producer and writer. The series is directed by Bobby Heaney.

This exciting local drama starts showing on SABC 2 from Tuesday, 14 April at 19:30; the series has 13 episodes.
