In a bid to elevate female entrepreneurs within the
Jacaranda FM community, the station launched its new initiative to help female entrepreneurs perfect their elevator pitches and take their businesses to the next level by winning a prize package worth over R500 000.
The station is calling on female entrepreneurs earning less than R10 million per annum to send a video pitch of no longer than 94.2 seconds to
[email protected].
The video needs to explain:
- what their business is about
- why their business is important
- how it gives back to the community, and
- what help they think their business needs to take it to the next level.
Alongside the video, the following needs to be added to the submission:
- a complete company profile
- more detail about the business
- the staff complement
- a business plan, and
- a five-year growth plan.
The campaign is spearheaded by:
- Deirdre King, Jacaranda FM's managing director
- Jane Ruinard, Jacaranda FM's commercial manager
- Jacaranda FM presenters and entrepreneurs Rozanne McKenzie and Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, and
- Charlotte du Plessis, CEO of Woman Of Stature Foundation.
According to the station, 10 entrants will be invited to pitch their business in 94.2 seconds or less to this panel of professional women on Wednesday, 31 August.
Each of the panellists brings a wealth of knowledge to the table through their experience in their respective careers, says the station. Panel members will share valuable advice these female entrepreneurs can take home to give their current business plan a boost.
The station adds that each panellist will share varying yet business-critical advice with these women.
King will unpack the business model from a leadership and marketing point of view, and Ruinard will share insight into the commercial aspects of their business. McKenzie will share her knowledge on how to ace a presentation and Afrika-Bredenkamp will advise each woman on the importance of creating connection when delivering 'HER Perfect Pitch' speech with an audience.
One of the 10 entrepreneurs will walk away with a grand prize that will give them support for their business in the months to come. The winning entrepreneur will win R500 000 worth of advertising value on
