The INMA Board of Directors is the fiduciary body overseeing the association's activities worldwide, says the organisation. 

The INMA says the new INMA board terms begin on Sunday, 1 June. 

The organisation says that stepping down from the board are Sanjay Gupta of Jagran Prakashan in India and Sandy Naude of Independent Media in South Africa.

INMA President, Gert Ysebaert, CEO of Mediahuis, also notes two additional members who have stepped down in the past year after leaving the news industry. These members are Praveen Someshwar of HT Media in India and Lay Lim Teo of Singapore Press Holdings.  

According to the INMA, executives elected to new board terms are:

  • Marcelo Benez, Executive Commercial Director, Folha de S.Paulo, Brazil
  • Sinead Boucher, Executive Chair, Stuff, New Zealand
  • Pia Kalsta, CEO, Sanoma Media, Finland
  • Debby Krenek, Publisher, Newsday, United States
  • Maria Eugenia Ferre Rangel, Chairwoman of the Board, GFR Media, Puerto Rico, and 
  • Andrew Saunders, CEO, The Globe and Mail, Canada. 

The INMA concludes that the executives elected to new officer terms are:

  • Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, President, International, The New York Times, United Kingdom, as Second Vice President, and 
  • Pam Siddall, Co-President, Advance Local, United States, as Treasurer.
