Returning for its sixth year, Comic Con Africa, 'Ampli5ed' by 5FM, is a rich celebration — of anything from comic books, television series, movies and games to theme and character dress-ups, Cosplay and broader pop culture — and promises an unforgettable four-day experience where "fandoms" collide, passions ignite and creativity takes centre stage, says 5FM.

This year, supporters can expect meeting their favourite celebrities like Misha Collins (Castiel from Supernatural), to experiencing the biggest Artist Alley yet, with over 150 local and international artists lined up, adds the radio station.

The KidsCon zone — a dedicated space in Hall 6 for all supporters — will be offering the latest in collectibles for young attendees, gaming competitions and cool activities, making Comic Con Africa a family-friendly day out, while gaming tournaments, play areas, world-class activations, pop culture merchandise, Cosplay competitions, collectibles, food trucks and much more will satisfy the supporter experience, says the radio station.

5FM will be 'Ampli5ing' the event with live broadcasts directly from Comic Con Africa — Top 40 on 5 with Harrison Mkhize on Saturday, 30 August and The 5 Takeover with Jodell Tantij on Sunday, 31 August, where listeners can look forward to exclusive interviews with international guests, live updates, and giveaways, adds the radio station.

The Con's Show Director, Carla Massmann, says that Comic Con Africa is delighted to partner with 5FM once again. "5FM has been an important friend of the show from its early days and we are thrilled to continue our partnership with this icon of South African broadcasting. 5FM's presence brings a special energy and vibe all of its own, and we look forward to the excitement they'll be bringing to Comic Con Africa's 2025 edition."

5FM and Good Hope FM's Business Manager, Masi Mdingane, concludes, "Comic Con Africa is one of the biggest highlights on the African youth events calendar, making this partnership a perfect match for the station that lives and breathes youth culture. We are looking forward to a Comic Con Africa that will be bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before."
