Ndalo Media has followed up the successful launch of its newest title,
Destiny Man, with the introduction of an interactive online extension of the publication –
www.destinyman.com.
The website comes three weeks after the first copies of
Destiny Man hit South African shelves and reflects the same combination of business and lifestyle content as this niche title.
DestinyMan.com is a social networking site that features business; sports; lifestyle and entertainment news; as well as forums; live feeds; blogs by industry leaders; and handpicked sections of the magazine. The site is updated daily; weekly; and alternate monthly.
According to Khanyi Dhlomo, Ndalo Media Managing Director,
DestinyMan.com complements the printed publication and is an extension of the magazine’s reading experience.
“
DestinyMan.com is first and foremost a social networking site, relying on members of our community to generate content via blogs; forums; etc. The only content from the current issue of the magazine that we feature on the site comes from our top five and online bonuses, which extend the reading experience with more information on a topic we’ve featured in the current issue of
Destiny Man. The magazine is the common thread that draws businessmen online to continue the Destiny Man experience,” Dhlomo explains.
The website allows like-minded users to engage each other by creating their own personal and business profiles; connecting on the network via connection requests; posting their own events on the community notice board; and creating their own groups.
Dhlomo says the site is completely interactive, encouraging user participation.
“Users are able to read and comment on blogs written by industry leaders and other users; create blog posts of their own; create sector-specific forum topics and comment on existing topics; and watch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of
Destiny Man cover stars on
Destiny ManTV. They’re also able to participate in the
Destiny Man mentorship programme and access exclusive, tailor-made information that’s industry-specific and hinged around self-empowerment,” Dhlomo adds.
In addition, users can stay abreast of developments within the
DestinyMan.com community through a customised user dashboard and weekly information updates via the monthly
Destiny Man Insider and
Destiny Man Weekly mailers.
“
DestinyMan.com supports and enhances the
Destiny Man print product and extends the brand into the online space by incorporating several social media platforms that allow readers to empower themselves and each other,” Dhlomo says.
Destiny Man is an alternate monthly magazine for successful South African businessmen and professionals. Its unique content mix comprises local and international business; leisure; lifestyle; health and technology news; and insights, all tailored to suit the informational needs of its self-assured; accomplished; stylish; and affluent male readers.
DestinyMan.com follows the launch in October 2008 of Ndalo Media’s
www.destinyconnect.com (
DestinyConnect) – a business and lifestyle online social network for readers of
Destiny Man’s sister title,
Destiny. The site, which has more than 12 000 registered users, provides a platform for readers and other business-minded women to connect and forge business relationships, and has proved to be a great success. Many users have reported tangible business and career oppotunities that have come up as a result of their interacting with other women on the
DestinyConnect.
It’s anticipated that Ndalo Media’s latest digital offering in
DestinyMan.com will enjoy similar success in the future.
Established in 2007, Ndalo Media aims to become one of South Africa’s leading print and digital media companies. Ndalo Media is a joint venture between Media24 and Khanyi Dhlomo.
