tru FM has welcomed Anthony Soglo as the Programme Manager for the station. Soglo's love for the radio started when he was a child growing up in Umtata in the Eastern Cape. Sogolo got his first taste of radio when he was part of the Junior City Council team of Mthatha.

He got into radio again, joining his varsity radio station CBFM in Port Elizabeth after winning a Jock Search competition before it was expanded to community radio station re-named to BAY FM. He started-off as the host of the weekend breakfast show; working his way to the weekday line-up; presenting the mid-morning; lunch time; and eventually the drive-time show. He was approached by commercial radio station Algoa FM to join them as a presenter.

"Having worked as a prime-time radio presenter; drive time show producer; and a technical producer at Algoa FM, Soglo's innovative ideas and creative inputs will assist in taking the station forward," said Thobeka Buswana, tru FM Station Manager.

"I'm very excited with this new chapter in my life, I'm very passionate about the Eastern Cape; young people; and radio; so putting all these together in one melting pot - makes me very happy to be here. Leading this group of young people on one of the most exciting radio stations in the country makes it even much better. The main challenge would be to create one voice through 24 different on-air personalities; be able to deliver our mandate in a manner which the youth can identify with; and obviously increase our audience listenership, which will all come in time,' says Soglo.
