The New York Times reports that two websites created at the University of Utah were awarded the Science Prize for Online Resources in Education for "providing an excellent source of new material while educating a hugely diverse audience of users."

One of the sites, Learn.Genetics, uses interactive animations to explain genetics to students and the general public. Teach.Genetics is a resource for educators that includes printable lesson plans. The sites received 8-million visits from users in 189 countries in 2009, with 21-million page views, according to the university.
