Rhythm City is Etv’s newest soap opera. Its storyline is based around the contemporary music scene and the experiences of those who are brave enough to enter the industry. Soon to be screened, Lucilla (KB) will receive an unexpected visitor that wishes to stay at the Vilakazi household for an indefinite time. The visitor, Diphuka (Bonolo Moeketsi) is Lucilla’s 18-year-old niece, who is the daughter of her favourite sister, Connie. She is from Mafikeng (Maftown), and is impressionable and superficial. Aunty Lucilla is her idol. However, Lucilla does not exactly have the time now to look after a house guest: her marriage to Redemption Records boss, Miles (Peter Se-puma), is on the rocks because he’s found out about her affair with gospel wild child, Samuel Sedibeng (Wandile Molebatsi).
