After much anticipation, Thought24 has announced that Sbu Mpungose will become the new Editor of TRUE LOVE. Mpungose takes the reins from Dorah Sitole, who has been at the helm of this leading woman's magazine for the past two years. The announcement was made on Monday, 26 April, by Thought24 CEO / Publisher, Jonathan Harris.

In making the announcement, Harris had this to say: “I am excited to welcome Sbu to Thought24 as Editor of TRUE LOVE. She brings with her the exceptional editorial skills needed to be the Editor of this iconic brand and the passion; drive; and vision to develop and build on the title’s strength over the longer term.”

In addition to attaining her Journalism degree at Pretoria Technikon (Tshwane University of Technology), Mpungose was trained as a sub-editor by the Independent Group. Her working experience includes Editor for Move! and BONA magazine. Furthermore, she was the Deputy Editor for DRUM and Edgars Club Magazine.

Sbu won several awards during her tenure at Move! Magazine, including the ADMag Editor of the Year in 2007. Currently shortlisted for the Mail & Guardian’s Young South Africans You Must Take To Lunch Supplement, she also bagged the Vodacom Women in Media Award (Rising Star) in 2009.

Mpungose takes up her position on 1 July.
