Mtyali joined Motsweding FM in September 2007 as Programmes Manager and was seconded to Thobela FM as the acting Station Manager for the period 1 October 2008 until 30 September 2009. Upon her return to Motsweding FM, she was asked to take over as acting Station Manager.

Her knowledge and understanding of the radio industry extends beyond the period she spent at Motsweding FM. From 2001, Mtyali spent some time in various capacities in SABC Education and Content Enterprise divisions. During that period, she was responsible for the overall youth development strategy for television and PBS radio stations, as well as children's programmes.

During the period 2001 to 2004, she was with Radio Mafisa, a community broadcaster situated in Rustenburg in the North-West, where she became the Programmes Manager and the Station Manager respectively.

When she accepted this offer, Mtyali expressed her gratitude for having been offered the opportunity. She further gave a commitment towards ensuring that the station achieves the set target and objectives in line with the broader strategy of the Corporation.
